Hey hey, how are you doing today?

Nowadays people crave a lot of sugar, since we are so used to it being a major ingredient in majority of our food.

And it is no different when it comes to drinks. According to Google, the world's most consumed drink in developed countries is tea. Going head to head with water. But when it comes to sodas top 3 beverages are Coca Cola, Pepsi and Diet Coke (you can read more about it here). No surprise there right? What shocked me in my researches was how much sugar there truly is one can of these drinks. It goes all the way up from 9 g or 7 teaspoons of sugar per can (you can check out how much sugar is in each type of beverage here).

But what truly lead me to the creation of my Lavender recipe was my liking of a certain type of flavoured water. Back in 2021 I discovered First by Fructal. It is a selection of 4 different flavoured water: lemongrass, lime & mentha, ginger & orange and lavender & pear. The last one is my go to beverage. But standing at 1.89 €/bottle they seem quite expensive to me. So I started my research of how could I brew something close to that on my one.

And in the last year I perfected my recipe:

Ingredients

  • 10-14 stems of lavender (can be greenery or blossom)

  • 1 lemon

  • 5 spoons of fresh pear juice

  • 500 ml of water

  • 10 cubes of ice

First you are going to add your lavender to water and brew it on the stove. Let it boil for 2 to 4 min than cold it off. After your brew is cold you will add half of the lemon. You can either slice it and add slices or squeeze the juice and add it. After that mix very well and cold it again for 15 to 20 min. After take pieces of lemon out and add your pear juice. Mix well again. Take out your lavander and strain the brew. Now you can serve your beverage with ice.

Note that drink tastes better when being well child.

Tip: If you want your beverage to be lighter violet color you need to add some sparkling water and a teaspoon of blueberry juice in it.
